What types of kilns do you have?

We operate both gas kilns (for reduction firing) and electric kilns (for oxidation firing). This combination is rare in the Boulder area.

How long does firing take?

Bisque firing takes about 12 hours. Glaze firing takes 8-14 hours depending on the kiln and temperature. Cooling takes another 24-48 hours.

What cone do you fire to?

Our electric kilns fire to cone 6 (mid-fire). Our gas kilns fire to cone 10 (high-fire). Both produce durable, food-safe stoneware.

Is firing included in class fees?

Yes, all firing is included in both class fees and membership dues.
