Is pottery hard to learn?

Pottery has a learning curve, especially wheel throwing. But with patient instruction and practice, most people can throw functional pots within a few weeks. Handbuilding is more immediately accessible.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting clay on. Closed-toe shoes. Tied-back hair. We provide aprons.

Will I make something I can keep?

Absolutely. In a 6-week class, most students finish 4-8 pieces that are glazed, fired, and ready to use at home.

I'm not artistic. Can I still do pottery?

Pottery is a craft as much as an art. You don't need to be artistic — you need to be willing to get your hands dirty and practice. Everyone starts as a beginner.
