Ceramic Sculpture in Boulder

Ceramic sculpture takes clay beyond functional pottery into the realm of fine art. At Boulder Pottery Studio, our sculpture workshops explore figurative and abstract forms, wall-mounted pieces, and large-scale installations.

You'll learn construction techniques for building hollow forms, supporting heavy structures, and creating work that survives the kiln. We cover armature building, surface texturing, and finishing techniques including underglazes, oxides, and cold finishes.

Ceramic Sculpture Classes at Boulder Pottery Studio

At Boulder Pottery Studio, we will teach ceramic sculpture as part of our pottery curriculum. Whether you're exploring this technique for the first time or deepening an existing practice, our instructors will guide you through the fundamentals and help you develop your skills.

All materials will be included in our class fees: clay, glazes, kiln firing, and tools. Our studio is planned around modern computer-controlled electric kilns, so firings are consistent and dependable.
